Radio One Brings In Furst to Program News In Houston

12-14-2012

Radio One Regional Vice President Doug Abernethy says Alan Furst (pictured) will assume the duties of PD for News 92 FM (KROI-FM) beginning January 7. Furst is leaving Emmis' WIBC in Indy to take the new gig in Houston.

Since the station’s sign on just over a year ago, programming responsibilities at News 92 have been covered by consultant Ed Shane in cooperation with Radio One’s corporate programming staff. Furst is a former consultant for Shane Media and has spent over 20 years working in Texas markets.

Abernathy said, “Alan is exactly the programming pro we’ve been looking for. He’s got the talent, the drive, the enthusiasm, and, most importantly, a track record of success.  He knows the market, he knows the format, and we are confident Alan can deliver big results."
