WEEI Honored For Jimmy Fund

Congrats to Entercom's Sports Talker WEEI in Boston for taking home the 2012 Global Lung Cancer Coalition award. The station was honored for coverage of lung cancer during the Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon. The award was accepted by Jason Wolfe, VP of Programming and Operations for Entercom Boston, at the Shine a Light on Lung Cancer Vigil in Boston held at the Prudential Center.

Wolfe said, Its an incredible honor to be recognized by the Global Lung Cancer Coalition and Im so proud to accept this award on behalf of all of us at WEEI. Cancer affects us all, and we are blessed to have had such tremendous success shining a light on this terrible disease through the efforts of the Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon. I want to thank everyone at the GLCC for their support. It means a great deal to our entire staff.

The Global Lung Cancer Coalition (GLCC) promotes worldwide understanding of the burden of lung cancer and the right of patients to effective early detection, better treatment and supportive care, with a commitment to improving disease outcomes for all. Each year, GLCC, through its 31 members in 22 countries, recognizes outstanding journalistic efforts with this award.
