Watch How Much You Text Listeners

MediaPost is reporting that a Buffalo Bills fan is suing the football team for sending him too many text messages. Florida resident Jerry Wojcik says he signed up to receive 3-5 text messages from the team per week. He received six in week one and seven in week two. "The excessive calls were made without the prior express consent of the parties." He is seeking class-action status.

Wojcik argues that the Buffalo Bills violated the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act, which prohibits companies from using automatic telephone dialing systems to make calls to cell phones unless the owners have consented. The law provides for up to $1,500 in damages per violation.
