Buffalo Broadcasters Induct Five on Thursday.
9-24-2012
The 2012 Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame induction ceremony this Thursday will feature a national flavor with strong Western New York ties. Heading the class of 2012 is legendary Buffalo Sabres play-by-play announcer Rick Jeanneret. He’ll be joined by VH1 President Tom Calderone, CNN’s Southeast Region Bureau Chief Marylynn Ryan, former investigative reporter Lee Coppola, former WIVB-TV photographer Bill Cantwell and WGR-AM operations manager and traffic reporter the late Mike Roszman.
In addition to the induction ceremony, the BBA will present the Tim Russert Medal of Merit to a recently-graduated broadcast journalism student from St. Bonaventure. The Hall of Fame ceremonies will also recognize WYRK(WADV)-FM’s 50th Anniversary of broadcasting. The Buffalo Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame Dinner starts at 5:30PM Thursday with cocktails and the program begins at 7:00 p.m. in the studios of WNED-TV. WYRK-FM’s Clay Moden and YNN’s Katie Morse will be the MCs for the evening.
