Confusion in Birmingham
Several published reports in Birmingham have sprouted a "Save The Jamz Morning Show" fan page after one of the morning show co-hosts on 95.7 JAMZ says he accidentally came across an e-mail that said the station would be taking the Roy Wood Morning Show in another direction. Of course this could be a stunt. The station is promoting a community protest on the air.
Al.com reports that neither the co-hosts or executives are really sure what's going on. Thursday, after co-host Brian Hedrick read the e-mail on the air, and started taking calls, the show ended abruptly.
Wood (pictured here) said he became aware of the situation during the show and through phone calls. He tells Al.com he's in Los Angeles filming the TBS show "Sullivan & Son," tells AL.com, "the possible end of the show could have something to do with his travel schedule." He spent three months in LA working on the production of the show and another two months on a promotional tour, but he had been working on his radio show remotely.
Al.com quotes Ops Manager Kori White who says, "No official decision has been made about the future of the morning show by Cox Radio. "The incident could have been a misunderstanding and hopes to talk to the program director at 95.7 as well as the hosts to see where everyone stands on the situation. I understand they could be upset and that they might need to take a little time."
