Mobile Revenue Growing at Pandora
Recognizing the role smartphones have in the lives of consumers, Pandora has made a strong effort, and is succeeding, at growing its mobile revenue and its mobile platform. Despite the much smaller screen (compared to a PC) CEO Joe Kennedy says the company generated $59.2 million in mobile revenue, 53.2% from advertising, the rest from subscriptions. He says, despite the smaller screen, consumers are so much more focused on the device than on a PC, indicating advertisers see better ROI. 75% of Pandora's listening hours now come from mobile. Pandora offers consumers a $4.00 per month plan which gives them access to the music without ads.
