Keith Urban Sweeps Blair Garner's Awards
After three rounds of voting on AfterMidNite.com, late-night country music fans made their final selections in 10 categories of Garner's Third Shift Awards. The most-awarded artist was Keith Urban, who took home wins in three categories: Pedal to the Medal Award (song most likely to get you a speeding ticket) with “Long Hot Summer”; Male Pin-Up Artist; and Fantasy Duet, where fans
selected Urban and Prince for a duet.
Garner said, “The reaction from our listeners was beyond what any of us expected. They really appreciated the fact that someone wanted to hear what they thought -- those hard-working Americans awake during the overnight hours. This was their moment, their chance to let the artists know who they most support. They voted in droves, and we’re over-the-moon happy with what we created. We hope this is the first of many years to come for After MidNite's Third Shift Awards.”
Urban said, “I'm hugely honored, and I want to thank everyone for voting. I appreciate it, but I'm just asking everyone to please don't send your speeding tickets to me."

The first-annual Third Shift Awards were created to give late-night country music fans the
opportunity to recognize their favorite artists. The initiative began as a way to honor “third shifters” who
make up the listenership of After MidNite, but the concept quickly engaged not only core listeners, but
also artist fan clubs, record labels and even the artists themselves. Winners were chosen via a bracket-
style voting contest on www.AfterMidNite.com from July 17 through August 22.
