Programmer George Mier Joins WHKQ/FM Orlando

Mier joins the bilingual Spanish CHR station as Vice President and Program Director. Mier was part of SBSs WSKQ-FM in New York, and a major player on the team that developed the popular Spanish morning show "The Luis Jimenez Show," which airs on Univisions WXNY in New York.

WKKQ Chairman Adam Lindemann said, We are totally committed to our unique bilingual Spanish CHR format and we are excited to have succeeded in bringing George back to Orlando. His exceptional track record will help bring the station to the next level. WHKQ General Manager Rafael Grullon added, I have known George for over 20 years and there is no one else I would trust to take the lead programming WHKQ/FM. In addition to all of his success in New York and as a consultant, George spent many years living and working in Spanish radio here in Orlando, and he has a tremendous feel for this markets unique and growing Latino population."
