WOR - Bought For $22.5 Mil. Sold For $30 Mil.

There's no doubt WOR-AM would have brought in a much bigger price during the heyday of crazy high prices -- however, when Rick Buckley was alive the station was never for sale. $30 million is nothing to sneeze at, but there were always rumors running rampant in New York City that Buckley was being offered a lot more. Clear Channel picked up its first NY City AM signal for the $30 million price tag, 23 years after Buckley purchased it for $22.5 million from RKO.
