$20K Fine For Failing To Properly Light Antenna

This big fine is levied against Renacer Broadcasters Corporation in Puerto Rico for "failing to paint and light the antenna structure" according to the FCC. Commission rules state that broadcasters must maintain the painting and lighting of the antenna structures when they exceed 200 feet. The Renacer antenna structure was well over 200 feet and according to the commission had never been painted. It was constructed around 2002.

(8/3/2012 4:35:14 PM) The FCC regulations are a total JOKE!! Multiple times have I called the FCC about KCAL-AM, 1410, in Redlands, CA, about the lighting of their antenna being with NO lighting at night, where a plane could crash with it at night, and nothing hapoens... Also, multiple times have I complained to the FCC about this SAME signal operating ILLEGALLY at FULL power at night, and still, to this day, the FCC has done NOTHING.. |
