Cumulus Gives Huckabee Two Thumbs Up So Far

In an upcoming issue of Radio Ink magazine, Cumulus Co-COO John Dickey (#14 on Radio Ink's 40 Most Powerful) discusses a long list of issues, including Arbitron, the new sports deal with CBS and why every radio company should join iHeartRadio. He also gives us his insight into how Cumulus' two big syndicated stars (Huckabee and Geraldo) are doing. on Huckabee, Dickey says, "The show is moving along beautifully. Two months into it, like any other product, he has made great strides with the show. It was a good product when it launched, it is an even better, more compelling product two months into it."

Dickey says, with respect to ratings, Cumulus is seeing some very encouraging signs. "In San Francisco, he's pulled almost dead even with Rush where he's up against him head to head. That's pretty encouraging stuff. It's too early to proclaim anything significant in ratings, especially given the fact that out of 200 or so affiliates, he's not up against Rush in every one of those situations. Right now I would say we are two thumbs up. We are very excited, very pleased. We are ahead of our plan of where we thought we would be with the governor. The show sounds great. We are seeing some very encouraging signs in the largest of markets, some very encouraging signs that he is moving the needle. All systems go with Governor Huckabee and he's continuing to exceed our expectations in terms of what he's capable of doing. It seems like he's always on the front page of national stories, whether it's consideration for Vice President or whether it's him weighing in on the whole Chick-Fil-A controversy."

Tell, Cumulus Co-COO John Dickey there is NO WAY every station in the USA should join iHeart Radio. You can NOT pick up iHeart Radio in Canada, because those dipsticks think we're a bunch of idiots from outer space. (They refer to us as the quiet foreigners that live up in their attick). They will NOT allow Canadians to hear any iHeart broadcasts, and the only ones we can pick up are like WABC New York which is NOT restricted to US listeners only. What's with all this foreign bigotry? We each breath the same air as Americans, we can buy American made products on EBAY, and we put our pants on, one leg at a time, just like Americans, but we aren't allowed to listened to the conceited US radio stations on iHeart. Bad bad idea Mr. Dickey - VERY bad idea.
