Colorado's Broadcasters Come Through for Wildfire Victims
Last night a statewide effort on the part of Colorado's radio and television broadcasters netted over $220,000 for victims of Colorado's Wildfires. The Colorado Broadcasters Association contributed $5,000 on behalf of Colorado's radio and television stations, which was matched by an anonymous donor who provided up to $40,000 worth of matching donations throughout the night.
Colorado Broadcasters Association President Justin Sasso said, "Broadcasters have served dual roles in their communities during this wildfire season, providing urgent evacuation information to their listeners and viewers and then circling back with their resources to raise funds for those affected by the fires."
Last night's efforts raised funds to support American Red Cross Disaster Relief efforts in Colorado and to benefit the Colorado Professional Fire Fighters Foundation.
