CBS Launches Against Clear Channel in Boston
CBS is changing its Boston Classic Hits format to a new CHR Thursday. A similar format already exists in the Boston Market and it's owned by Clear Channel. It's KISS 108 so this flip puts CBS right up against the Clear Channel CHR in Beantown.
CBS Boston Market Manager Mark Hannon said, “When looking at the habits of Boston radio listeners, it is clear the music most favored by the biggest group of people is contemporary hit music." The AMP format will feature artists such as Rihanna, Usher, Maroon 5, Pitbull, Flo Rida, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj.
Listeners can still hear the classic hits format on the HD multicast channel of WODS (WODS103.3 HD-2). The station will also be available online at www.wods.com.

What a shame!
What a shame! Chasing the fickle dollar in exchange for loyal listeners with established bank accounts.
104.9 in Beverly MA, 740AM WJIB Cambridge MA,
Pandora on line. What's done is done. The era of community based radio with public interest announcements and conscience is past.
With love and loyalty to Uncle Dale, Karen Blake, the man in the afternoons who I live to listen to but whose name escapes me because I am over 40! I love you! Forever!

This morning, was the last time I will be tuned to
103.3. Why can't they leave things alone? There are enough stations playing the music they have switched to, we didn't need another. I will truly miss Karen Blake and all the other DJ's they have let go.

Clear Channel apparently bought 1033amp.com and amp1033.com, because those URLs send you to kiss108.com

This is bullshit. I am pissed that they pulled this on those of us who have listened to 103.3. Luckily, 104.9 from the North Shore is still on the air. I have no intention of listening to the fucking shit that will start at noon today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
