A $52,000 Haircut in Houston

Sarah Pepper from CBS owned HOT 95-7 in Houston shaved her head in honor of those who have lost their hair in the battle against Leukemia and Lymphoma. Pepper was a nominee for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Woman of the Year." She won the Houston Citizenship Award and came in second place for Woman of the Year. Her goal was to raise $50K pledging to shave her head if she hit it. She raised over $52,000.

To raise the money, Sarah executed a ten week fundraising campaign that featured 10 events and over 50 volunteers donating five hundred hours of time.   Sarah and her fundraising committee planned and executed events from car washes, dances, Karaoke (using local celebrities), a celebrity pour featuring Bud Light, Aim For the Cure at The Arms Room Gun Range and dine-ins at Luby’s and Fuddruckers.
