Radio Ink believes consumers would benefit greatly from having FM on their cellphones. Radio tends not to go down during disasters, when cell towers, Internet, and power may all go out -- which is exactly what happened during the Tuscaloosa tornadoes earlier this year. Additionally, providers are moving away from flat-rate data plans; with radio on every cellphone, consumers can get access to radio in an emergency without having to pay data charges.
We're encouraging stations to run these spots to drive consumers to seek out phones with FM, and we hope your station will choose to run them. The spots were commissioned by Radio Ink and created by The Famous Radio Ranch and Dick and Sandy Orkin in Los Angeles.
