New York DJ Danny Stiles Passes at Age 87.

Stiles who was on the air for over 60 years died of a respiratory ailment. According to the WNYC website Stiles hosted the  "Danny Stiles' Music Museum", and was known as the "Vicar of Vintage" playing records from the 1920s-1950s and occasionally beyond every Saturday night.

Stiles began his radio career in 1947 at WHBI in Newark New Jersey calling himself Midnight Dan. In the 50's and 60's at WNJR he hosted a show called "The Kit Cat Club" which featured R&B and rock 'n' roll. Stiles then moved on to Nostalgia format utilizing his thousands of recordings that went all the way back to the 30's and 20's. The era's of the big band and roaring 20's. In all Stiles worked at over 20 radio stations during his lengthy career.
