Ed Ryan Rejoins Radio Ink As Editor-In-Chief
January 31, 2011: Industry veteran Ed Ryan rejoins Radio Ink as editor-in-chief, a role he held from 1998-2003. Before coming to Radio Ink the first time, Ryan was a six-station market manager for Backyard Broadcasting in Elmira, NY.
"Ed is a powerhouse with a passion for radio," Radio Ink Publisher/CEO Eric Rhoads said. "He has been in the shoes of our target readers as a market manager, sales manager, and even on air. He understands their needs. We're excited to have him back."
Radio Ink VP/GM Deborah Parenti added, "I was a market manager when Ed was editor, and he made me a loyal reader and fan of Radio Ink. It's going to be exciting and fun to work with him now."
Ryan said, "It's just as exciting now to be editor of Radio Ink as it was when Eric called me the first time in 1998, when I was 32. Now, at 45, I've added experience running radio stations, along with starting my own business. I look forward to bringing all that perspective to the pages of Radio Ink magazine and our online products. My goal is to pack those products with as much information as possible to help you succeed every day. Feel free to contact me at email@example.com."
With Ryan's arrival, Brida Connolly becomes Managing Editor for all Streamline Publishing titles, including Radio Ink, Fine Arts Connoisseur, Artist Advocate and PleinAir. Connolly joined Radio Ink as news editor in 2007 and was named editor-in-chief a year later. Before coming to Radio Ink, she spent nearly 10 years with industry publication Radio & Records, serving as news editor, technology reporter and columnist, and associate managing editor. She's also a veteran copy editor with more than a dozen years of experience on national publications.
Streamline CEO Rhoads said, "Brida is an amazing editor and extremely detail-oriented, which is why she is a perfect fit to broaden her responsibilities and move into this oversight position to control our growing stable of brands."
Connolly said, "Though I've enjoyed the last couple of years as Radio Ink's editor, copy editing is really my first love, and I'm delighted to be working with all the great Streamline editors and contributors."
