Pandora Leads U.S. Webcasts In May

July 8, 2010: Ando Media reports its webcast ranker for May, with Pandora on top in domestic streaming in the 6 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday-Friday daypart. Ando's Webcast Metrics is ranked by average active sessions -- the average streams of one minute or more that are active within a time period -- and also measures session starts, or streams of one minute or more started within a time period, and average TSL, or the average number of hours for sessions lasting more than one minute within a time period.

Pandora saw AAS of 402,978 in May, with session starts at 43.2 million and average TSL of 1.62 hours. CBS Radio is in second, with AAS of 166,644 and session starts at 148.4 million, with average TSL of .79 hours, while Clear Channel Radio came in third, with AAS at 117,828, session starts at 24.7 million, and average TSL of 1.38 hours.

In all streams, domestic and international, CBS Radio leads, with AAS of 171,491, session starts at 52.7 million, and average TSL of .95 hours. Digitally Imported Inc. came in second in May, with AAS of 70,542, 977 Corporate was third, with AAS at 47,423, and I.FM Corporate drew AAS of 28,208. (Ando only measures real-time listening for certain streams). The all-streams ranker doesn't include Pandora, Clear Channel Radio, or Citadel.

The webcasts that belong to the Katz Online Network -- among them CBS Radio, Clear Channel Radio, Entercom, Cox, Radio One, Cumulus Media, and AccuRadio -- combined to bring in AAS of 243,863 and 43.2 million session starts in May, with average TSL of 1.62 hours in the 6 a.m.-8 p.m. domestic ranker. In the all-streams measurements, Katz saw AAS of 303,826.

Ando also provides measurements for 6 a.m.-midnight.
