Stern Says He Turned Down TV Gig
February 4, 2010: Howard Stern, whose contract with Sirius XM runs out at the end of this year, told listeners he had an offer to take over someone's TV show, MSNBC reports.. Stern didn't specify whose show and said he turned the offer down, and claimed again that he's been approached by terrestrial radio.
Sirius XM CEO Mel Karmazin, meanwhile, told a New York gathering Wednesday that he "would certainly like" Stern to stay and said, "I'm optimistic we'll be able to continue with Howard. We'll see what happens." But he also acknowledged that Stern will be highly sought after; Karmazin said, "In this world of fragmentation, great content prevails."

(2/9/2010 6:17:31 PM) easy for people who do not listen to him to refer to his show as not being "great content". Understandable that you , TOM, only listen to what the media tells you about things. They take a 30 second soundbite of his 5 hour a day show and then try to crucify him or pass judgment. Is his show essential to humanity? Of course not. But he entertains millions for 5 hours a day. AND THAT is the reason he gets paid. Millions would not listen if the content wasn't reat. |
