Hogan: CCR Is 'Logical' Company For Stern's Return

January 22, 2010: If Howard Stern is looking at coming back to broadcast radio when his Sirius XM contract is up, Clear Channel may be interested in a deal, Bloomberg reports. Clear Channel Radio President/CEO John Hogan told Bloomberg in an e-mail, "We clearly have both the willingness and the financial wherewithal to consider high-profile talent."
Hogan added that Clear Channel would be "the most logical company" for Stern "to optimize his exposure and financial return."
Stern, whose contract winds up at the end of this year, told Bubba The Love Sponge on the air Thursday that he's gotten some interest from terrestrial radio, though he said no "bona fide offers" as yet. But, Stern added, "I can't imagine the day that I would ever work for Clear Channel."
Hogan also told Bloomberg that a deal would hinge on whether Stern would be willing to work "within the limitations" of broadcast radio. Clear Channel took Stern's syndicated show off its stations in several cities back in 2004, citing indecency concerns.
