Radio's Haiti Relief Efforts Continue
January 21, 2010: Westwood One and the MTV Radio Network are set to simulcast the two-hour live Hope for Haiti Now benefit for earthquake relief commercial-free as earthquake relief efforts roll on. The show is set for Friday at 8 p.m. ET-PT and will air on all the major TV networks and many cable channels, including MTV. KGO/San Francisco is also set to simulcast the program.
Univision, meanwhile, has set the four-hour Unidos por Haiti on Saturday, a special edition of Sabado Gigante, hosted by Don Francisco. Celebrities and other Univision and Univision Radio talent will join in the program and encourage viewers to donate to earthquake relief.
The syndicated Bob & Sheri, meanwhile, devoted their January 20 broadcast to asking for WorldVision sponsorships for Haitian children. The broadcast brought sponsors for 478 children, and the sponsors were each thanked personally on co-host Sheri Lynch's Twitter feed. Bob & Sheri air weekday mornings on WLNK/Charlotte and are syndicated through Greater Media/Charlotte.
