Clear Channel Tulsa Launches Gen X Radio
December 30, 2009: Tulsa is getting the next generation of radio as Clear Channel’s KQLL-FM has become KTGX-FM, "106.1 Gen X Radio." The station will feature music from the 80’s and 90’s and will cross musical genres by featuring Grunge, Hip Hop, Hair Bands, Boy Bands and others. Representative artists will include U-2, Eminem, Dave Matthews, Madonna and Pearl Jam.
Clear Channel VP/Regional Market Manager Bill Hurley says, "106.1Gen X Radio is not a typical radio station. It will give Tulsa listeners a brand new experience. Our entire local team is extremely excited and focused on making Gen X Radio the best choice for Tulsa."
Don Cristi, operations manager for Clear Channel Radio Tulsa, adds that "106.1 Gen X Radio is a completely new concept. It’s a format that captures how 30-somethings listen to music and ignores genres and categories. This is the music that shaped a generation of pop music fans, and we believe every song played on KTGX-FM will generate fans, not just listeners."
