Mercedes, Rolls Expand Commitment To HD Radio
November 18, 2009: The entire 2010 Rolls-Royce model line, including the Phantom Series, will include standard HD Radio, said iBiquity Digital. Rolls-Royce of North America began offering HD in vehicles in 2007.
"We are proud to confirm the availability of HD Radio technology for yet another prestigious brand -- Rolls-Royce," iBiquity COO Jeff Jury said. "The Rolls-Royce brand is revered. This commitment to HD Radio technology as standard illustrates how digital radio's dynamic function enhances the in-car ambiance. The addition of Rolls-Royce to the HD Radio roster truly solidifies the technology's stature in the luxury automotive class."
Additionally, Mercedes-Benz has expanded factory-installed HD to all 2010 models with premium feature packages. That includes the E-Class Coupe, and E, CL, CLS, S, and SLK class vehicles.
"We comment Mercedes-Benz USA for extending the availability of its premium feature packages to more of its newest automobiles, continuing to be a true innovator in providing excellence in design and performance," Jury said. "Mercedes-Benz drivers expect leading technologies, and the superior sound quality and clarity delivered by HD Radio entertainment will serve to enhance their experience."
