Randall Mays Stepping Down As Clear Channel President/CFO
October 27, 2009: Changes at the top at Clear Channel Communications, as Randall Mays is stepping down as president and CFO. CEO Mark Mays told employees in a company memo Tuesday that Randall will move into a a role as vice chairman and hand off financial duties when a new CFO is named. At that time, Mark Mays will resume the title of president.
Mark Mays wrote that his brother "has decided to scale back his time commitment to Clear Channel," but will "continue to be invaluable in helping us steer the strategic direction" of the company. Randall Mays' contract term, through 2013, remains unchanged.
Mark Mays wrote, "During Randall's tenure, he has been widely recognized as one of the nation's top CFOs. While he will be a tough act to follow, we have an active search for a new CFO underway, and we have been impressed with the caliber and number of candidates that have been identified."
