KMVN/Los Angeles Becomes KXOS

LOS ANGELES -- June 30, 2009: KMVN/Los Angeles drops the last of its "Movin" identity, becoming KXOS to match its new moniker of Exitos 93.9. The former Rhythmic AC flipped to Spanish Contemporary in April, when Mexico City-based Grupo Radio Centro took over the station's operations from Emmis under a long-term LMA.

Exitos GM Barrett Alley said, "We were looking for new call letters that reflect the personality of the station, so when we discovered that the letters KXOS were available, we applied to the FCC right away."

GRC CEO Carlos Aguirre said, "Thanks to GRC's financial backing, along with more accessible prices due to the current economic situation, we had the unique opportunity of leasing and operating a strong radio signal capable of reaching six counties in Southern California. With only two months on the air, we couldn't be more satisfied with the results of this investment."
