FlyCast Adds SongFlyer For Twitter, Facebook
LAS VEGAS -- April 23, 2009: FlyCast debuts the new SongFlyer, which lets FlyCast users dedicate recommend and dedicate songs through Twitter and Facebook to other users as the songs play. The song recipient will hear the song from the beginning, by way of FlyCast's StreamSlip technology, and can then continue to listen to the station. Recommendations can include a message of up to 120 character.
"As we all know, the most relevant recommendations come from trusted friends, and SongFlyer makes it easy and fun to dedicate and recommend music to friends and followers while the music is playing," said FlyCast CEO David Kennedy. "Broadcasters remember what Casey Kasem did for radio listenership with his 'Long Distance Dedications'; SongFlyer brings a new level of virality to this concept -- translating into increased listenership and ultimately, increased revenues for our partner stations. Trusted recommendations have long been the backbone of new music discovery and we expect SongFlyer to increase online music sales as well."
SongFlyer works with the iPhone and iPod Touch, as well as desktop players. About 1,200 AM/FM and webcast stations are on the FlyCast network.
