HD Radio Lands In Land Rovers

MAHWAH, NJ -- April 8, 2009: Land Rover will make factory-installed HD Radio available to U.S. customers for its entire 2010 model-year Land Rover line.

"Land Rover customers expect their vehicles to be the most capable luxury SUVs in the world, both in terms of what they can do on the road and the experience they offer inside the cabin," said Land Rover North America EVP/Marketing & Sales Chris Marchand. "Certainly integrating HD Radio technology into our audio systems will add to the enjoyment our customers experience driving their Land Rovers."

Thirteen brands and more than 70 vehicles lines are now committed to HD Radio, notes HD developer iBiquity.

iBiquity President/CEO Bob Struble said, "Additional automotive manufacturers continue to announce their adoption of HD Radio technology, while others are accelerating expansion across model lines and packages -- this speaks volumes of the industry commitment to this infotainment platform. By giving drivers access to added content, fresh new formats, superior clarity, and data capabilities with no subscription fees, HD Radio technology is quickly becoming the preferred digital entertainment option for automakers."
