Democrats Launch Anti-Rush Petition

WASHINGTON -- January 28, 2009: The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee -- the campaign arm of House Democrats -- is telling its supporters to "Stand Strong Against Rush Limbaugh," and sign an online petition to "tell Rush what you think of his attacks on President Obama." The DCCC is responding to remarks made by Limbaugh last week saying, "If I wanted Obama to succeed, I'd be happy the Republicans have laid down. I don't want this to work. So I'm thinking of replying to the guys,OK, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails."

A message to supporters on the DCCC website says, "We need every grassroots Democrat to show Rush Limbaugh and all of the Republicans what they're up against if they start attacking President Obama and Democrats who are working to end the failed GOP policies of the last eight years."

Limbaugh quickly responded with, "I am greatly puzzled. Why would the Democrats petition against me if I am doing such terrible damage to the GOP?" His site is linking to the DCCC page's "feedback" page, where Limbaugh is asking listeners to "tell the DCCC and all other Democrats that it is time to stop lying about and distorting Rush's comments on Barack Obama's War on Prosperity."
